The Clockmakers, c’est un groupe basé en Alsace, qui tourne depuis 2013 autour des compositions et des textes de Mélanie, au chant et au trombone. Elle est entourée par une section rythmique pleine d’énergie, ainsi que par un binôme trompette-saxophone baryton, puis un clavier.
L’univers musical mêle Ska et Soul des années 60, avec un répertoire original enrichi de quelques standards jamaïcains. Les sept musiciens s’unissent afin de créer un son à la fois rétro et moderne, le tout teinté de Rock’n Roll qui transpire ! Après un premier EP sorti en 2015, suivi de plusieurs disques vinyles, le groupe a sorti l’album « Good News » en juin 2019. Le disque « Bringing the Sun » est sorti fin 2023, suivi d’un autre vinyle de 4 titres revisités chez MS Records & Rusty Knife en 2024.
The Clockmakers is a band based in Alsace, France, active since 2013 and built around the songwriting and lyrics of Mélanie, who leads on vocals and trombone. She is backed by a high-energy rhythm section, a tight trumpet–baritone saxophone duo, and a keyboardist.
Their musical universe blends 60s Ska and Soul, with an original repertoire enriched by a few Jamaican standards. The seven musicians come together to create a sound that’s both retro and modern — all infused with raw, Rock’n’Roll energy!
After releasing a first EP in 2015, followed by several vinyl records, the band unveiled the album Good News in June 2019. Their latest record, Bringing the Sun, came out at the end of 2023, followed by a 4-track vinyl of reimagined songs released on MS Records & Rusty Knife in 2024.
